The Comeback

Never Give up

I just want to drop you a line and let you know how much I'm looking forward to this race. I am a stage four cancer patient. I have been able to run two marathons since my diagnosis four years ago by working them in between treatment rounds. The last treatment started just after Boston last year and left me absolutely decimated and even wishing I could hurry up and die. One hope kept me going in particular: I kept telling myself that if I could run another marathon after this absolutely horrible treatment, it would be the biggest comeback yet. Well, the treatment finally wore off at the end of March. In just a few weeks, I have every intention of making Mesa Falls the perfect comeback. It will not be my fastest time. Like, not at all. But I think it will be the perfect place to take in the beauty of God's creations and celebrate the fact that I'm still alive. Can't wait!
